The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, a narrow-gauge heritage railroad that operates between Antonito, CO, and Chama, NM; originally built by the Denver and Rio Grande Railway (D&RG) in 1880.

The Galloping Goose #5 is a gasoline powered railcar built in 1933 by the Rio Grande Southern Railroad, when it became too expensive to operate the steam powered train for daily passenger and mail service during the Great Depression. Its front cab was a 1928 Pierce Arrow series 36 limousine, which carried the motorman and passengers. The rear 24-foot trailer carried mail and freight. It was powered by a six-cylinder Pierce Arrow gasoline engine.

In 1946, the Pierce Arrow cab was replaced with a Wayne bus body, and the engine replaced with a GMC six-cylinder truck engine built for the U.S. Army. In 1950 the rear freight car was modified to carry passengers as well.
