The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad in Colorado, originally opened in 1882 by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad (D&RG) to transport silver and gold ore mined from the San Juan Mountains. Operating today as a scenic heritage railway between Durango and Silverton, CO along the Animas River. Steam locomotive 476 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1923. Restored in 2018.
