Freeway Park in Seattle, WA. Designed by landscape architect Lawrence Halprin and opened in 1976. It was the first park built over a freeway, connecting downtown to the First Hill area by bridging across Interstate 5. Unfortunately, most of the fountains are currently not operating, and instead are functioning as trash bins and toilets for the high homeless population of the park. Hopefully better maintenance and proposed renovations will return this park to the condition it deserves.
