House 61 - Guarda
This is a typical Engadine house built in 1640, which has been gently renovated. Despite all the modern conveniences, the original character and charm of the house with its stone pine parlour has been preserved.
Sgraffito (or scraffito, plural: sgraffiti) is a technique of wall decor where layers of plaster tinted in contrasting colors are applied to a moistened surface. 17th century Guarda is one of the best preserved and characteristic villages of the Lower Engadine.
