USS Toby D. Termined

USS Toby D. Termined

Length: 123 studs

Ship's Bio: (Redacted but recently recovered) After the creation and terraforming of the colony worlds, (here’s a little useless trivia for you, the word “colony” has the word “colon” in it but colony comes from the Latin word “colere” which means to cultivate as the first colonies were settlements of retired roman soldiers turned farmers/landowners. And the word colon comes from the Greek “kolon” which denotes a limb or segment. Did you know that? Well I didn’t.)

Ahem.

After the creation and terraforming of the colony worlds and the distracting rabbit trail of the author, came the fall of the United States. The colonies rebelled against the central authority and cut a new deal with the invading alien nation, the Gyltig. The aliens turned around and enslaved the colonies and even “intermarried” (trust me, you don’t want to know) with them so that it’s hard now to tell if colonials are even human. Earth never gave up though. Horrific wars were fought early on in which the destruction of the frontier was near complete but life goes on in its way and centuries later the USS Redemption drove heroically into the inky, black heart of the Gyltig empire and sacrificed itself to destroy them once and for all.

News travels slowly at light speed and though its head is cut off, the dragon’s limbs fight on, perhaps even more desperately now knowing they are doomed and so word of the victory is still spreading and many refuse to believe. Many more are still hopelessly allied to the enemy and fight what should be their own salvation and freedom. In the tradition of the old Messenger class heavy cruisers, which projected the power and law in the time before, ships were built among the free colonials themselves to spread and take the good word to the ends of the universe, the Herald class light cruisers. Often traveling paired up with a farmship tender, they go where the empire’s grip is tightest to break the chains and spread the word: The war is over, it’s time to come home!
