Another face? What can I say... I'm enjoying exploring faces at the moment. Unlike many of the others this does not have a photocopy or transfer underneath it. The piece has been drawn free form. First in paint, and then with pen to tighten some details. The colours are once again a mix of cadmium red and phthalo green with some white thrown in. The paper was covered roughly in gesso before commencement, however some of the darks in the right hand corner are where there was no gesso and the paper has sucked up the paint. I often like to cover a piece roughly so interesting effects emerge as the paint is absorbed differently.
