rustic cabinet

Probably our biggest bargain find, this is actually a hutch that you would hang on the wall. We desperately needed a sideboard of some kind in the kitchen to house cookbooks and some cooking magazines. It appears to be handmade and was originally in not-so-great condition. The outside was just a blah stained wood finish, pretty worn out, and the inside was painted a dull white. The bottom drawers just had tiny brass knobs. Price? $2. Painted the inside a bright white with paint we already had on hand, and scored the perfect red for the exterior from the "oops" section in the hardware store... for $1. The new knobs are a great red and turquoise damask pattern that I picked up a few weeks prior from Michaels on a whim for $1 each. It's slightly top/front heavy when empty and we need to secure it to the wall soon (all because it's made for the wall, not the floor), but all told, not to shabby for $7!!
