A Date with Round Valley

I had always been entranced by another Flickerer surreal shots of Round Valley, predominantly ensconced in a thick layer of fog partially blanketing the smooth rolling green hills in this East Bay Park. The warm glancing morning/evening light that gently laps the green valley in spring positively sets the place aglow with a golden brilliance.

This combined with the deep shadows on the oak trees starting to sprout up after the moderately cold winter cast by the slanting light makes for a perfect composition.

That is what I tried to capture in these two images while on a short first-time hike into this serene place (I hardly saw a soul there while doing a 4 mile loop). I used a telephoto lens in these shots (manually focused) to capture the depth in these scenes.

I hope to return to this location sometime this weekend with the wishful thinking of getting some soft lighting conditions.
