The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature…

There are days when everything seems to go awry, and then there are days when a plan comes together perfectly. The last morning of the Bishop trip was one such day. On the previous day, while driving back, I saw an offshoot road next to the highway that seemed to have a fantastic view of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I actually pulled over and checked out the road and immediately realized the potential. This time I correctly calculated the drive time and sunrise time, making it to the spot with a few minutes to spare.
While reviewing this spot on google maps, I noticed a tiny stream that ran parallel to the road, and I had plans to use the stream as a foreground interest. But I didn’t need to worry. Ass you can observe from the frozen solid stream in the foreground, it was a frigid morning, and the wind was intense. But the atmospherics and the light that morning was that gorgeous. The wind whipped a massive cloud against the mountain as the sunlight hit the mountains, creating a stunning scene. There were not many compositions possible at the location, so I quickly exposed a couple of frames on my Bronica 6x6 camera as well.
