1979 VOLKSWAGEN Typ 28 LT31 Reisemobil

'LT' means 'Light Truck'. At the introduction in Aug. 1975 only the LT28, LT31 and the LT35 were available. The numbers refer to the amount of pay-load.

The LT-Series was face-lifted in 1983, 1986 and 1993.

It looks like this is a home-built camper.
