Brooks Stevens in the Thirties

Brooks Stevens (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 1911-1995) was one of the most influential American industrial designers.

From 1929 to 1933 he studied architecture and opened an home-furnishings design studio in 1934 in Milwaukee. Besides cars for Studebaker and Jeep he designed various other things like motorcycles, kitchen appliances, logos and other graphic design.

In 1962 he redesigned the Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk Hardtop Coupe.

In 1959 he opened his own automotive museum in Mequon, Wisconsin. Unfortunately the museum had to close in 1999.
