1988 RENAULT Super5-40A 1.4 Automatic

The redesigned R5 was officially called Supercinq. It was styled by Marcello Gandini for Studio Bertone and introduced in October 1984.

The Super5 was face-lifted in May 1987 and received a new grille like at this one.

The first generation R5 was designed by Michel Boué and had a different body and platform.

I have reasons to believe that this R5 was once belonging to the famous and at the same time mysterious 'Utrecht collection'. And that's because I found this car on a public car park in Zeist together with lot's of other rather neglected 1980s cars which I do recognize from this collection. This collection has been cleared in 2019. Many cars have unfortunately ended up in a junkyard in Roosendaal (NL).

About two years earlier I was here in Zeist for the first time. Many cars didn't move an inch since then.
