1955-1965 PEUGEOT D4 Fourgone

This delivery van was originally developed by Chenard & Walcker during the war years.

In the late 1930s Chenard & Walcker went bankrupt. The poor company was taken over by coach work company Chausson.

In June 1946 a new van 1500 kg appeared still under the Chenard & Waclker brand name. But after Peugeot acquired Chausson this van was renamed Peugeot D3 in October 1950. At first the D3 had a Peugeot 202 engine. Later it got the 203 engine.

In 1955 the D3 was replaced by the D4 with the same body but with a 403 engine with higher performances.

The D4 series was available in many different body variations. After October 1959 one could chose for a Diesel engine as well.

In 1965 the D4 series was replaced by the J7.
