1955-64 MESSERSCHMITT KR 200 Kabrio Kabinenroller While Driving

You can find KR 200's not only in museum collections, but also in private collections. Once in a while you can even encounter one on the street.

Note the special license number.

 

During 1952 the German engineer Fritz Fend (1920-2000) had developed his Kabinenroller into a small tandem 2-seater: the 1953-54 KR 175, which was succeeded by the KR 200.

In 1957 this KR 200 Kabrio was presented, which was followed by the KR 201 Roadster without window frames.

This microcar was built by the Regensburger Messerschmitt-Werk. When this company came into financial trouble in 1956, Fritz Fend took over the direction while the company was renamed Fahrzeug- und Maschinenbau GmbH. Regensburg (FMR).
