1968-1972 FIAT 500L

Or this 500 is an original 1968-1972 500L with a new 1975 registration number, or it's a 1972-1975 500R with 500L specs extra bumper bars. I guess it's the first option.

The world famous Fiat Nuova 500 was designed by Dante Giacosa. Production lasted for eighteen years.

The 500L was introduced in Aug. 1968 to accompany the more sober 500F. The 'L' stands for Lusso or Luxe, but don't expect to much of this predicate, the 500 stayed very basic.

The 500L is easily recognizable by its chrome bumper bars.

499,5cc aircooled 2 cylinder rear engine.

Production 500L: Aug. 1968-Oct. 1972.

General production 500: July 1957-1975.

Original Italian reg. number: 1975.

Number seen: about 35, most of them in Roma.
