1975-85 IFA WARTBURG 353W Tourist
I'd seen this Wartburg before this week but now it was parked without other cars around and the light was better: an excellent opportunity for a 2nd chance...
This lovely bright blue Wartburg 353 is one from the 1st generation, made between 1975 and 1985.
The new 353 Limousine was officially presented in July 1966, production started simultaneously. The 353 estate followed in Oct. 1967 and was called 'Tourist' like the 1964-76 Simca 1300/1500 estates.
'W' stands for 'Weiterentwicklung' which means 'further development': extra options were added in 1975.
In 1985 the 2nd generation with a new grille and headlights was introduced.
992 cc L3 2-stroke engine.
Performance: 50 bhp.
