Road to Nowhere
Shot on Bad Water Road, Death Valley, California.
Landscape are best shot at sunrise or sunset. But when travelling, especially on a tight schedule, you are forced to choose the places you want to visit at dawn/dusk while other places need to be covered during the day. Often shots taken in the bright afternoon light without a polarizer or an ND filter tend to be washed out and barely do justice as color shots. Even HDR does little to help the situation. But when you process such shots as B&W subtle tones begin to emerge.
Processed as multiple layers using Nik HDR Efex, Silver Efex, Noiseware Pro and Photoshop.
