Trident of Shiva
The 3 peaks of Trishul as seen from Binsar, Uttarakhand, India.
Being lazy to post a new shot, I just made a colored version to go with my previous post which was an attempt at being like Ansel Adams. Thanks to all who commented with their words of encouragement. I really appreciate it.
For the curious few, here's the story behind the pic:
The shot was made during my honeymoon trip to the Himalayas. After trekking uphill from Binsar for nearly 5KM, we came across an abandoned stone structure. A tricky climb to the top of it revealed breathtaking views of these mountains which were at least 300KM away. This shot was taken with the maximum zoom (12x) setting on the DMC FZ20 (see my comment below for what one could see without the zoom). The mix of sunlight and fog made it very hard for me to get a good exposure (or maybe it was the thin air up there :)). Thanks to GIMP and Noise Ninja I've been able to restore it to nearly a perfect reproduction of the sight I saw that day.
