Indian Peafowl

There are plenty of Peafowls to be found in the wild here and I have seen and clicked them on numerous occasions. But this was the first time that I observed a male doing its famous courtship display. The Indian Peafowl lives mainly on the ground in open forest or on cultivated land where they forage for berries, grains but also prey on snakes, lizards, and small rodents. It is the national bird of India and is native to the Indian subcontinent though it has been introduced to many other countries. This was clicked at the Athiyadam Bird Sanctuary.
