Glossy Ibis
Being the most widespread Ibis species, Glossy Ibises undertake dispersal movements after breeding and are highly nomadic. Though generally suspected to be a migratory species in India, they are resident in western India. In Kerala their numbers drastically decline in the monsoon which could mean local movements to suitable areas to breed. They feed in very shallow water and nest in freshwater or brackish wetlands with tall dense vegetation such as reeds and low trees or bushes.
