Exquisite Munnar

Munnar is a town and hill station located in the Idukki district of Kerala, known for its misty hills, valleys, streams, waterfalls, unending expanse of tea plantations, pristine valleys and mountains and exotic species of flora and fauna. This shot was clicked from the Eravikulam National Park, the first national park in Kerala. At 2,695 meters, the highest peak in India south of the Himalayas is inside this park. Sadly, no one is allowed to go to the very top and so this shot was captured at the top most point where access is allowed. Twenty six species of mammals have been recorded in the park including the largest surviving population of Nilgiri Tahr, estimated at about 750 individuals. The other ungulates are Lion-tailed Macaques, Gaur, Indian Muntjac and Sambar deer. Golden Jackal, Jungle Cat, Dhole (wild dog), Leopard and Tiger are the main predators. Some little-known animals such as Nilgiri Langur, Stripe-necked Mongoose, Indian Porcupine, Nilgiri Marten, Small Clawed Otter, Ruddy Mongoose, and Dusky Palm Squirrel are also found.

This shot was clicked using the old trusted EF 18-135 kit lens with lens hood but that did not prevent the lens flare seen. Maybe it actually gives a certain zing to the shot. Any thoughts?
