Woody Faces the Rat Building

Or: Puppye Woodrow to the Rat Tower Came

The Rat Building is that ugsome tower, eyesoring as it does the lower University campus in Salt Lake City. I call it the Rat Building because in the nineteen seventies my sister was employed there by a lab that was doing experiments with rats (and, much more to my interest, a primitive and at least partly homemade computer that used a teletype interface.)

Woody Woo is the tiny dog in the fg. You may have to squint to make him out, as he is so teeny. But he does not lack for courage in facing poured concrete monsters.

To the left, the variegated redwall is the outer surface of an enormous secret room in the Marriott Library, where a robot places and fetches books tirelessly wrt cyclopean shelves I have not seen.

I wonder if it is a good idea for me to take phone-cam shots on dogwalks. There is no shortage of subjects; that is the problem not. Rather that holding the telephone is most precarious, since 'phones are so featureful that everywhere you can touch on them *does* something, it is hard to grip them well.

And meanwhile, the chihuahua is never still. I can feel the retracting leash paying out as I compose the shot - and any second will come the JOLT that sends the phone a-plummeting to the unfriendly cobbles.

Hasn't happened yet tho but I wonder should I tempt fate.
