DaliXizhou2013

With my brother visiting China for the first time, we took a weekend trip to the countryside town of Xizhou, outside scenic Dali, in central Yunnan province. We stayed at the Linden Centre, a nationally protected heritage site that has been restored to its former dynastic elegance.
Set within the Bai minority village of Xizhou, we enjoyed visiting the local market, cycling among the rice fields along ErHai (lake), touring Dali ancient town, and hiking through the forest of the Cangshan (mountains) overlooking the lake and valley.
