Meewasin Queen

The 35-passenger Meewasin Queen is a 3-season tour boat with lounge-style seating, catered meals, heated cabin, toilet, bar service, and features an upper deck affords a great vantage point from which to see the river. She was built in Selkirk, Manitoba in 1969 for use on the Red River and Netley Marsh. She was originally named the Lady Chesley and worked out of Chesley Resorts near Clandeboye as well as on the rivers in downtown Winnipeg. She was purchased in the autumn of 2007 by Shearwater Properties Ltd, and spent the winter of that year undergoing an overall re-fit. Made entirely of steel, she is 44 feet long, 12 feet wide, and draws 2.5 feet of water. She is powered by a new (2008) 225 hp Tier II Volvo diesel engine, has a dry weight of just under 15 tons, and a registered tonnage of 22 tons. -Shear water tours.
