The Kite - (Milvus Migrans)

Had rescued this baby kite that had fallen down from the tree a while back, was being beaten up by crows and other large birds.

 

Had him for about three weeks at home, he is an amazing bird.

Let him free for the first time after a week but he couldn’t fly, so kept him for an additional 2 weeks.

Tried to set him free for the second time, but was still having problems to fly, I did try to help out a bit, during the process to help the little fellow the mother swooped down and hit me on the head. God I thought a brick had hit me.

After several attempts the little kite did manage to fly.

 

He sits across my balcony and seems to still remember me.
