Jeff P. with an incredible bright fresh Majic Bullet, Metalhead, Chromer - Steelhead. Congrats!!

Randy,

I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU for a most excellent trip yesterday. Having fished the Lake Ontario tributaries for nearly 20 years and guiding for 10 of those, yesterday was by far the best fishing I have ever experienced. You really put us on the fish, IT WAS AMAZING. In two decades of fishing my biggest coho was 18 pounds. I caught FOUR coho yesterday that beat it (18.5lb, 19lb, 20lb, and 22lb). Our Norwegian guest Geir Sivertzen had the time of his life and will remember this day forever with a big smile on his face. I caught and released more coho yesterday than I have in the last 4 years combined! What else can I say . . . a grand slam (35lb king, 17lb steelie, 7lb brown, 22lb coho), all three of us hooked up simultaneously at least 4 times, having to net fish two at a time, Bob, Geir and myself landing 50 out of 85 fish AND all on fly rods!!! Yes, our arms are SORE!! We simply cannot thank you enough for sharing your expertise and helping us to have a most memorable day. You are truly one of the standouts on our Mustad Guide Prostaff.

Sincerely, Jeff P.

Recent Steelhead Fishing Report off the Drift Boat on the Salmon River, Pulaski NY.

Pat and Steve

Today's trip was slooooooooooow! Tuff, tuff, tuff. Worked hard all day with lil to show for our effort's. Guess we zigged when we should have zagged.

My guest's allowed me to discount there trip fee a lil, which made me feel a lil better. I think this may have been my slowest day all Steelhead season?

Sal and George

The following day we zagged instead of zigging. The fishing was amazing with 10 Steelhead played with. This was Sals first time and he was very surprised when he hooked up his first Steelhead of the morning of many. Fish was landed and Sal was (just like the Steelhead) hooked for life! The adrenaline was flowing!

Another "Day for Kings"!

My guest's played with over 12 Steelhead today! We even left Steelhead to find Steelhead. Hot-hot hot!!

Stan was 5 Steelhead landed out of 6 hooked up off the drift boat. All coming from one prime lye. We found Steelhead in 1 out of 4 spots. The temp. was 17 degrees in the morning. A guide told me that while they were landing a Skipper Steelhead (12 inch'r) it touched the side of his drift boat and stuck to the side of it!

Next day the weather was much nicer. We moved around in the drift boat and found a few players. Joe was 3 steelhead landed out of 4 Steelhead played with. We found Steelhead in 2 out of 3 spots fished. Joe landed a 10 and 12 lb. Steelhead!

Mack and Josh fished two spots today and hit Steelhead in both. First spot we worked it and then re worked it again. There were enough fish to warrant a second pass. The key was to cover this prime lye thoroughly before moving. Mack and Josh played with 10 steelhead total! Ye-haaaa! I was 100% on my spots!

The second spot we fished was on FIRE! Loaded!

I joked with my guest's that instead of me politely reminding them ALL day to keep their tip's up, I should have made a tape recording and just hit play and rewind all day.
