A fine winter day at home~

A fine snow day, for several reasons at our place; time to be kids all over again!
We had just completed moving cattle from one pasture to another as we normally do during winter months to take advantage of new grass. My brother stayed late to do the last bit of cleanup work; his wife Laura was away visiting her parents. I asked Ricky to come over to our house after he was done; he did, it was late so we all decided to call it a day. We visited for a while, had some food/coffee; I said to Ricky: I would not be surprised if we get some serious weather tonight bro; did you see the sunset-clouds? We visited for a while, it was time to turn-in…
In the early morning hours; I looked outside our window; it just looked too clear, too bright … I got up, went down to get me some coffee; looking out the window, I realized it had snowed and the ground was covered; making the area look a little bit like a wonderland! Ricky came downstairs meeting me in the breakfast room with a view out back where everything was covered in about six inches of white-beautiful snow! I knew there was sleet under the snow; (I heard the sleet coming down earlier) I knew my brother couldn’t leave; driving around the Hill Country on a sleet covered highway is never a wise prospect.
I went out to get some photos to discover his saddle on the back of his pickup; his chaps/spurs on top of a nearby post; he was so disappointed! He was too tired to realize not every piece of equipment was brought in, put up … He thought everything was inside under cover... we spent some time outdoors as you can imagine playing snowballing The first time ... slide show ...
