THA MAN

It is in the spring-summer of our life, we regale our passions in the hope the memories will keep us warm in the fall-winter while we wait for the final destination. ♪♪♪ Life's worth living when we do and share our best~

There are those rare moments in life when happiness just exudes from every pore contagiously touching those around us...We can be lucky by having a family to support and surrounds ourselves but real contentment comes when we feel the love of those we love by choice. I can't get enough

Two factors run common in our family; rodeo & boots. My sister in-law Laura said it one day: "I can spot the men in our family by the way they stand and their boots" Still, resonates clearly in my mind; to think someone can be identified by their stance (Mostly due to our love for horses; riding and by default rodeo) wasn't a clear signal till she said it...Now, I look inadvertently to each one of our family members and have started to notice a common thread. Each one has a definite presence by the way they carry themselves and the boots each wears. Scot is the humble man in our family; he usually is not heard or seen making a big splash. Most of us have began to recognize his strong presence by the way he usually will keep his eyes low; almost gives the impression of looking at his own boots all the time. In reality he ponders for a while before making any comments. His manners are subdue; quiet and his boots usually reflect what he plans to do on any given day. Ricky is the life of our family! His boots & spurs can be heard anytime he's around and makes no apologies for it...We really hadn't paid much attention till one day he was gone on some trip for a few days and we all said how quiet the house was without his jingle jangle usually heard the minute he step into the back veranda headed into the kitchen. His stance is very definite; placing his hands somewhere and the way he will raise his long legs one behind the other to check his boots...His spurs are his pride as much as his horses and will make either the topic of most conversations.

I usually wear my boots only when outside the house. Most times, coming in the back door will allow visitors the sight of several pairs lined up by the back door ready to be slipped into depending on the need or work for the day. I don't wear spurs unless going riding with Ricky ( He takes care to ask you politely; but point blank, to put on some before heading out riding alongside him...) In such case mine are usually plain; small rowels to minimize attention.

Having said all of this; I realize how distinctively each one in my family carries themselves yet what a common denominator that ties us together as if we were one single unit...
