Against the wind
It seems like yesterday
But it was long ago
Janey was lovely, she was the queen of my nights
There in the darkness with the radio playlng low
And the secrets that we shared
The mountains that we moved
Caught like a wildfire out of control
Till there was nothing left to burn and nothing left to prove
And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it never would end
I remember how she held me oh so tight
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then
Against the wind
We were runnin' against the wind
We were young and strong, we were runnin'
Against the wind
And the years rolled slowly past
And I found myself alone
Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends
I found myself further and further from my home
And I guess I lost my way
There were oh so many roads
I was living to run and running to live
Never worried about paying or even how much I owed
Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time
Breaking all of the rules that would bend
I began to find myself searchin'
Searchin' for shelter again and again
Against the wind
A little something against the wind
I found myself seeking shelter against the wind
Well those drifters days are past me now
I've got so much more to think about
Deadlines and commitments
What to leave in, what to leave out
Against the wind
I'm still runnin' against the wind
I'm older now but still running
Against the wind
Well I'm older now and still running
Against the wind
The time is early September; time to roundup and move some of the cattle around to greener pastures as we get ready for the next season.
It is in the spring-summer of our life, we regale our passions in the hope the memories will keep us warm in the fall-winter while we wait for the final destination. ♪♪♪ Life's worth living when we do and share our best friends.
There are those rare moments in life when happiness just exudes from every pore contagiously touching those around us...
We can be lucky by having a family to support and surrounds ourselves but real contentment comes when we feel the love of those we love by choice. I can't get enough
At the request of my brother and family members a series of photos I call: “Living life is a form of art”. Depicts our legacy in a visual format; captured by several of our family members. Moments of our day to day living; looked under the perspective each moment is precious like a priceless work of art! Enjoy the series friends. Have a wonderful life; don’t forget to hug your loved ones and tell ‘em how much you love ‘em! Time passes by very quickly…
Thanks to my brother who took some of the photos; he also selected the song (One of his favorites) and asked me to include the lyrics...For you Ricky!
God I'm down here on my knees
Cause it's the last place left to fall
Beggin' for another chance
If there's any chance at all
That you might still be listenin'
Lovin' and forgivin' guys like me
I've spent my whole life gettin' it all wrong
And I sure could use your help just from now on
I wanna be a good man
A do like I should man
I wanna be the kind of man the mirror likes to see
I wanna be a strong man
And admit that I was wrong man
God I'm askin’ you to come change me
Into the man I wanna be
If there's any way for her and me to make another start
Could you see what you could do
To put some love back in her heart
Cause it gonna to take a miracle
After all I've done to really make her see
That I wanna be a stay man
I wanna be a brave man
I wanna be the kind of man she sees in her dreams
God I wanna be your man
And I wanna be her man
God I only hope she still believes
In the man I wanna be
Well I know this late at night that talk is cheap
But Lord don't give up on me yeah
I wanna be a givin' man
I wanna really start livin' man
God I'm askin’ you to come change me
