madrid - temple de debod ... with lightning!
I've always wanted to feature lightning in one of my shots, but never had the chance - until my second-last day in Madrid. I'd shot the temple four times already, but couldn't put my finger on it - each time it felt like something was missing. Photos i was happy with, but it's as though something was around the corner which was much, much better.
Convinced i wasn't going to make it before rain had us all running for cover, Javier told me to run ahead - i couldn't believe my luck when i setup - and the clouds literally went around us.
An epic ending to an amazing time in a city with incredible people. It's often when you leave a place when you have the time to look retrospectively and realise the inspiring imprint people can leave on you.
