Wood for Bachi

While guitar cases sit in clamps, I am making several shamisen bachi. Bachi are a great way to use all the exotic wood I have squirreled away - Bazilian tulipwood, Jacaranda, Lacewood, African Mahogany. Before anyone thinks I am felling tropical forests, let me say this is all old - the Brazilian woods are more than forty years old - my father's wood pile. I do not buy tropical hardwoods now.
