Die Budenstrasse Games
Die Budenstrasse Games
Oktoberfest hamlet, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Williamsburg, VA
This games building in Oktoberfest been in place since the hamlet's opening on May 22nd, 1976, but the games have not been open since fall 2019 (Derby Dogs and Toss-a-Ball operated that Christmas Town but the other three didn't); after the COVID lockdown closure in 2020 the park's game department became outsourced, and the new operators haven't shown any interest in getting this side open anytime soon, with the exception of moving the Big One Crane in the space next to the arcade (a space previously used for Bushel Basket, which was moved here). From left to right are Snake Pit, Dead Ball Toss, Football Toss, and Derby Dogs. In 2019 Football Toss was closed and its' front patio was used for the "hang game", where guests were challenged to hang from a bar for two minutes without their arms failing them before the clock ran out; the two digital clocks that counted down from two minutes are still installed on the beams. Also still intact are Derby Dogs' stools.
Here's the structure in September 2015, with all games open and Bavarian flags above them rather than the ones used for Howl-O-Scream.
