This location opened in 2010 and closed in April 2018; it was originally a Big Star, which was built and opened in 1977 and closed in May 1982. It became a Safeway in 1983, which closed in 1987, and became a Gene Walters' Marketplace in 1987, which closed in 2010. Part of the space became an Aldi on January 16th, 2020.
This is yet another Harris Teeter-purchased location that won't become a Harris Teeter, because they have a 2010-built location with a second-level nearby. Again, why buy the store if you obviously aren't gonna repurpose it? Luckily, it looks like the building will be subdivided with Aldi as a tenant so at least something will be going in here.
