Burg Eltz Castle
Rudolf von Eltz’s small castle complex was developed in 1157, and built upon over 500 years to become the modern day Burg Eltz Castle, which sits nearly 100 metres above the surrounding valley in Germany. Our LEGO version was a real challenge, with almost no flat areas at all apart from the main castle, and even then there were multiple levels within it! To get the details we wanted to at the size we had, we ended up messing with the building's scale a fair bit, keeping it minifig scale at ground level, then shrinking the scale above that. The Castle was designed and built by Mark Curnow, Centuri Chan and Mitchell Kruik using just under 18,000 bricks!
