Orchard Beach, known as the Riviera of the Bronx, is a small. sandy oasis set alongside the quiet waters of the Long Island Sound. The 1.1-mile beach offers visitors a pleasant waterside experience within a backdrop of vast picnic lawns, sports courts and playgrounds, and surrounding forest, meadow and salt marsh.

Twin Island Preserve / Two Tree Island is a nature walk adjacent to the beach and boardwalk

Summer programming includes concerts on the main pavilion stage of section 9 including live bands as part of the Bronx Summer Concert Series at Orchard Beach with artists such as Dominican salsa singer José Alberto aka “El Canario"

Salsa Sundays includes Salsa Dancing with Dj playing Puerto Rican salsa and latin music elsewhere in the park. Often with live Bongo and percussion instrument drummers joining in

Vendors include

Orchard Beach The Riviera of Da Bronx Little Puerto Rico for graphic tee shirts and beach supplies

Across from Orchard Beach is City Island which is 1.5 miles long (once part of Westchester County) City Island is part of the Pelham Islands

The body of water between City Island and the even smaller, uninhabited Hart Island to the east is known as City Island Harbor.

The small island adjacent to the northeast is High Island with WNBC WCBS broadcast towers

The Stepping Stones Light, marking the main shipping channel into New York, is off the southern tip of City Island, near the Long Island shore.
