02-18-09: Backpacking Gear
Today I finally narrowed down one of my hiking trips. I think I've decided to break up the Appalachian trail into 40-100 mile sections and my goal will be to hike one or two different section every year. This year will probably be the first portion of the Virgina section. This will take me to the highest point in Virginia and to Grayson Highlands State Park, home of some wild ponies! (no not horses, ponies!). In all, hiking every section will probably take 15-30 years but its good to have goals right?
Well, anyway, long story short, this got me excited about backpacking so I cleaned up and organized all my supplies and made a list of things I'll need to buy.
Since I spent the whole night doing this I had nothing better to photograph. Also, I think I'll want to see this old gear again someday so I needed to get some photos of it.
Now I'm in the mood to practice my backpacking culinary skills. I'm sure you'll see pictures of that in the near future.
