The night I set the sky on Fire...

My First Front Page Explore photo! At #1 Thanks everyone who visited.
This was taken last night on the shoreline of the park in Pearl City across the street from Burger King. I made it there just in time to set up my camera and get this shot off first. It has been a few days of gray skies, clouds and rain, so it was nice to capture some colorful sunset action.
Shot 7 exposures for top and bottom with the 10-20mm. In processing I first converted the D90 raw files to DNG. Then made some minor white balance and tint adjustments in camera raw and saved as .tif. Tone mapped both top and bottom in photomatix. Brought both tone mapped files into Photoshop CS2 and used the +2 exposure to lighten up some of the dark rocks on the bottom. Manually combined both photos, added a layer for curves and saturation. Put on an unsharp mask and did a bit of selective dodging on the sky and water.
Man that was a long explanation, I got a bit carried away there. Well, enjoy.
