Happy Birthday Dad!
He would have been 81 today.
This photo was taken when he was the head of the "computer" department at Fort Riley Kansas. They called it Management Information Systems Office. I guess they kept track of all the soldiers or something, I didn't really know, but they had a lot of neat machines that I got to go see on the weekends. They had one that would seperate the paper from the carbon paper that I really liked.
So this building was full of these huge tape drives and computers that are no where near as powerful as any of the computers you can buy nowadays.
He had that job for 30+ years until he retired. He would have kept doing it but he had to retire for health reasons.
