Lake O'Hara is one of the best backcountry hiking destinations in the Canadian Rockies. Two reasons for it: an incredible trail system and strictly controlled access.

An incredible trail system: Lake O’Hara’s extensive trail system is simply unparalleled in British Columbia, with more than a dozen hiking trails intersecting this wonderous landscape.

Strictly controlled access: The nature around Lake O'Hara is unique and fragile, the Yoho National Park management works hard to preserve such an extraordinary place by a strict reservations system when only a limited number of interested people can visit the area daily. If you were lucky to get a spot on the bus, the bus driver would welcome you: “Welcome to the hardest bus to get on in the world…”

The most photographed place on the whole Lake O'Hara Circuit is called Opabin Prospects. Here is the view of Lake O'Hara and adjacent Mary Lake, the crystal-clear lakes, hanging valleys, towering snow-capped mountains, and the pristine nature that shows the best Yoho National Park has to offer. It leaves you speechless!
