The photographer was Thomas Kirby Wardle oldest of 13 children of William Wardle and Mary Kirby
Thomas Wardle,a photographer from Grimsby, was summonsed by Mr G Wright of the Granford-Brigg Poor law union to show cause why he should not contribute to the support of his mother, an aged woman now chargeable to the funds of the union. The defendant said he had never refused to contribute but he thought his brother should also contribute. He was ordered to pay 1/6d a week towards her keep.
By the late 1870's Wardle became a gardener and retired from photography
died 16th August 1906
