Confusingly he is sometimes shown as Joseph or William on the census records but always living at 7 Aswell Lane. To add to the confusion there is also another Joseph Willey from Louth who is a photographer living at 120 Upgate Louth perhaps a relation.
In 1861 he is living at 7 Aswell lane with his parents and siblings including a William Willey who is shown as a tailor whilst Joseph is shown as a photographer
In 1881 he is shown as living at 7 Aswell lane as a photographer but living alone aged 60
Joseph Willey is listed in Kellys Directory in 1876 and 1882 as a photographer living at 7 Aswell Lane
