to eleni,

i loved it. the whole thing had a really nice summer road trip mood. in particular ceci n'est pas une fille and tracks by The Sea & Cake stood out. I also thought the Bjork track was a nice closing selection.

 

To further analyze my enjoyment, I appreciate your ability to throw a mix of old stuff in there like the Duke and The Smiths. Lastly, I found it interesting when you included a track by a band I already knew of (b/c it would make me think of which song by that band I would have included in a mix)-- those would be thalia zedek (i don't even know how that got on my computer.. i think the matador records anniversary cd?), cold war kids (i'd put hospital beds on my mix), new pornos (can't go wrong with anything by them... "letter from an occupant" was my obssession in 1st yr and lately i like "use it" or "broken beads"), sufjan stevens (have you ever heard his christmas music?)

 

This easily could have been an email, but I think my choice of medium to send this message is fitting given the roots of our friendship. Also i wanted to let the world at large know the depths of my happiness!

 

lastly, you got me in the music mood and I picked up a bunch of random stuff tonight, so eventually I will be making you a mix of your own..
