Snow and Light

In my last post I mentioned that I was IN the lake, and that it was very cold...and that I was real happy to be back in my car...

I was in a hurry...because I felt a little bad about sneaking past a barrier to get where I wanted to shoot (but only a little) I had this horrible vision of someone driving by, waving at me, then proceeding to fly off the road and never be seen again, all before I could flag them down and tell them not to proceed...there was too much snow.

It was 6am, and freezing, so it was unlikely anyone was going to come...but being the nice guy I am, I worried for people who were at home in bed.

As I was driving out, the sun came up....and put a nice spotlight on the mountain.

"AAAGYGIIYGIYIGGIGJHHHH!!!!"

I was mad, because I had to stop, get out (again), in the snow, toes already frozified, set up the tripod, and crack some more shots off...

All the while leaving the possibility someone would drive by me, waving...off to meet their doom.

To prevent this, I parked in the middle of the road.

There's something about knowing you're the only person who is, at that moment, seeing something awesome that makes me kind of happy.

I mean, I know somewhere, someone is watching clowns juggle gas soaked knives, and that's kind of awesome too...but this is a different type of awesome....because it's my awesome.

After this, I drove home and spent 3-hours being herded by a sheep dog. I don't care for sheep dogs, and their "instincts." I am doing some sign painting to raise money for Christmas, and new camera equipment...and there's a sheep dog there that spends it's time herding me, and a group of turkeys.

Herd the turkeys.

Herd me.

Herd the turkeys.

Herd me.

and so on...for three hours...then every now an then, to break things up, it would steal my towels, brushes, and what-not...pain in the ass.

I'd get my stuff, then it was back to...

Herd the turkeys.

Herd me.

The turkeys finally got smart and flew/scrambled into a tree...stupid turkeys.

Herd me.

Herd me again.

Herd me plenty.

All this before most people wake up...
