Johanniskraut / Hypericum
Natürlich kenne ich das Johanniskraut von vielen Bergwanderungen. Die gelbe Blüten haben mir immer recht gut gefallen. Aber erst auf der permanenten Gartenbauaustellung "Garten Tulln" habe ich diese Spezies als Blumenteppich für meinen Garten entdeckt. Heuer blüht sie auf der Böschung eines Steingartens bei uns in Flatz erstmals recht üppig, so wie ich das Johanniskraut auf der "Garten Tulln" lieben gelernt habe. Ich bin aber momentan nicht in der Lage, genau zu bestimmen, um welche der etwa 490 Unterarten von Johanniskräutern es sich bei den Exemplaren in unserem Garten handelt. Der Schönheit der Blüten tut dies keinen Abbruch.
Of course I know St John's wort from many mountain hikes. I have always liked the yellow flowers. But it was only at the permanent horticultural exhibition "Garten Tulln" that I discovered this species as a carpet of flowers for my garden. This year it is flowering quite profusely for the first time on the embankment of a rockery of us in Flatz, just as I learnt to love St John's wort at the "Garten Tulln". However, I am currently unable to determine exactly which of the 490 or so subspecies of St John's wort the specimens in our garden are. This does not detract from the beauty of the flowers.
