Crosshairs?

I was taking photos for one of my online tutorials. I forgot to adjust my camera settings. This came out. Rather interesting.

 

The tutorial is about eggs. This photo concept is supposed to be for the step that suggests putting an egg in a cup of water to test its freshness (if it sinks and lays still, it's fresh; if it tilts or floats, it's bad). I used the photo with the correct camera settings.
