gatewood cape.
this is my new tent, the gatewood cape by six moon designs. it really helped me cut weight this year. it serves double duty as rain gear and as a shelter. paired with the serenity nettent you have a double walled tent for 18 ounces! this replaced my 3.5 pound msr tent and 10 ounces of rain gear. i was pretty happy with the shelter, its not as roomy with the net tent but its roomy enough. we had some fierce winds the first night and the tent performed beautifully with the sides guy lined out and the back lip pitched to the ground.
this was our campsite for three nights up on glacier ridge. i was real happy to find a campfire ring because i didn't want to build a new one with the area being so pristine and untouched. im surprised my buddies stayed still for so long (30 seconds!) to get this shot. staring at a fire will do that to you i guess. the tent is being lit by my headlamp.
