mosque envy
just got back from a trip to istanbul and dubai. the weather was horrible in istanbul. this night was the only night where i had a proper sunset. after being discouraged for four straight nights i had almost decided to leave my tripod behind at the hotel this day but at the very last second decided to strap it to my pack. im sure glad i did as the clouds decided to break apart right at the very last moment!
the mosque in the foreground is the yeni mosque. the mosque in the back is the sehzadebasi mosque (i think). the spice bazaar is the building to the right almost out of the frame. during the day the yeni mosque is completely covered with pigeons and apparently getting a treat from the sky from one of these rats with wings is considered good luck. i was lucky to not get lucky.
