1931 Cadillac hood ornament

Back in the day, hood ornaments were statements, and often pretty extravagant. One of the most beautiful I have seen, this one adorned the grill of a 4-Door Town Sedan, one of 10,717 cars that Cadillac sold that year. By 1931 Cadillac had become a prestige brand, and the Town Sedan would sell for $2845 base price. This car was purchased for $225 in 1962 and fabulously restored, shown and much awarded, before it was donated to the collection of the AACA Museum in Hershey, PA. If you are in South-east/Central PA and like old, notable, interesting cars, I highly recommend this museum.
