Lee's Summit Polar Plunge

Hundreds of people from around Kansas City plunged into Longview Lake Jan. 28 raise funds for Special Olympics Missouri. Each participate raised a minimum of $75 for the cause. The Kansas City Polar Plunge is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Missouri. The Belton, Kansas City and Lee's Summit police departments also hosted the event.
