Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies

"Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies is a public art sculpture created by David Govedare in 1989–1990 and situated near Vantage, Washington. It consists of 15 life-size steel horses which appear to be galloping across a ridge above the Columbia River."

Darlene and I spent this evening at a Phish concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre. After which I decided that I needed to climb to the top of a hill in the middle of the night to take some photos of this amazing place.

This is a location that has been on my radar from over ten years now. I was glad to be able to finally spend time with these horses. Now that I'm familiar, I have a feeling that I'll be returning.
